Job Description

Head Of Series Production, Apple TV

Apple TV is seeking a world-class production executive for the pivotal leadership role of Head of Series Production. This executive will be a primary architect and leader in executing the physical production strategy for our globally significant slate of original series. This is a mission-critical role responsible for overseeing productions of unprecedented scale and quality, ensuring that our content ambitions are realized to the highest standard, on schedule, and on budget, in full alignment with the Apple brand. This position requires an individual with a demonstrated history of extraordinary ability and a distinguished reputation in the entertainment industry. You will be responsible for providing senior executive oversight from the earliest stages of development and packaging through to final delivery, commanding a portfolio of high-profile projects in collaboration with award-winning talent and premier production partners. This is a unique opportunity to build and lead within a new paradigm of studio filmmaking.

Reporting to the Head of Physical Production for Apple TV, the Head of Series Production will be ultimately accountable for the successful execution of our entire current series slate. You will direct a team of production executives and serve as the central hub for all physical production matters, providing critical guidance to our creative, finance, legal, and post-production partners. Your leadership will be instrumental in establishing Apple TV as the premier destination for the world's most visionary content creators.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the ultimate accountable executive for the physical production of all Apple Original Series, providing strategic oversight and final sign-off on production plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Architect and direct the master production and post-production schedules for the TV slate, ensuring a viable and efficient workflow that aligns with Apple's global content strategy.
  • Provide critical executive oversight and final approval on all budgets, applying an expert-level understanding of script breakdown, market rates, and financial structuring to ensure fiscal integrity from development to delivery.
  • Command cross-functional teams across the studio, directing collaboration with Creative, Finance, Legal, and Post-Production to resolve high-stakes issues and ensure that productions run efficiently, on budget, and that all creative and strategic deadlines are met.
  • Leverage an elite, personal network of key creative and production talent to attract and hire the world's best producers, department heads, and key crew for our most critical projects.
  • Directly interface with Legal to navigate and resolve unprecedented and highly complex legal, labor, and clearance challenges inherent in pioneering global productions.
  • Pioneer, establish, and implement new, best-in-class production policies and procedures that will define the operational backbone of Apple's TV studio for years to come.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A minimum of 15+ years of progressive experience as a Producer and/or Production Executive, culminating in a senior executive role (e.g., VP, SVP, Head of Production) at a major global studio, streaming service, or production company of distinguished reputation.
  • Direct experience managing an annual production slate
  • A portfolio of work that includes multiple projects recognized by major awards bodies.
  • Unmatched proficiency in analyzing and vetting budgets and schedules; mastery of Movie Magic Budgeting/Scheduling, Word, and Excel is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent distinguished experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters Degree
