Job Description

Salary: $54,080 - 70,720 per year Requirements:

  • Professional website development experience, ideally in an agency or client-focused environment
  • Strong working knowledge of WordPress
  • Solid skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
  • Ability to diagnose issues independently and work through solutions
  • Experience converting designs into polished, functional websites
  • Understanding of responsive design and cross-browser behavior
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Clear communicator who asks questions when needed
  • Comfort working independently while knowing when to involve the broader team
  • Flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced creative agency where priorities can change
  • Bonus experience with Elementor or other WordPress page builders, custom WordPress development, ACF, Git/GitHub, Google Analytics or Tag Manager, SEO best practices, accessibility/WCAG, performance optimization, and third-party API or platform integrations
Responsibilities:
  • Build, refresh, and support WordPress websites
  • Create responsive, user-friendly web pages and site experiences
  • Use HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and WordPress to develop and maintain sites
  • Troubleshoot website problems and implement fixes
  • Handle website updates, integrations, plugins, forms, and related functionality
  • Partner with our designers, digital team, and account managers to turn concepts into live work
  • Translate design files into functional, refined websites
  • Run quality assurance checks before launch
  • Identify and resolve performance, functionality, and technical issues
  • Keep projects organized and communicate progress, blockers, timelines, and technical requirements
  • Quickly orient yourself to existing websites and codebases

We are The Woodshop, a full-service creative agency based in Spokane, Washington. We work across branding, design, websites, social media, digital marketing, content, and campaigns. This is a six-month contract for a web developer working a minimum of 20 hours per week at $26–$34 per hour, with an in-person work location in Spokane. We value collaboration, fast-moving creative work, and clear communication, and no two days on our team look exactly the same.
