Security SupervisorROLLING HILLS CASINO - CORNING, CA 96021OverviewPosition Type Full Time Job Shift Graveyard Category SecurityDescriptionThe Security Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of Security Officers and Security Dispatchers while ensuring the safety, security, and regulatory compliance of the casino and resort property located on Tribal land. This role provides leadership during routine operations and emergency situations, enforces company policies and gaming regulations, and actively supports safety programs and OSHA compliance efforts. The Security Supervisor serves as a working leader and primary escalation point during assigned shifts.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:Supervision & LeadershipSupervise, assign, and direct the activities of Security Officers and Security Dispatchers during assigned shifts.Provide on-the-floor leadership, guidance, and coaching to ensure professional conduct and policy compliance.Conduct comprehensive shift briefings and daily training items.Assist with onboarding and training of new Security Officers and Dispatchers.Conduct on-the-job training, post audits, and performance observations.Promote continuous improvement, professionalism, and adherence to safety standards.Encourage a culture of accountability, teamwork, and guest service.Conduct roll calls, briefings, and post assignments; ensure adequate staffing and coverage.Model professional behavior, strong customer service, and ethical conduct.Handle escalated guest complaints and sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.Ensure team members maintain proper appearance, conduct, and compliance with department standards.Serve as the first point of escalation for incidents, guest issues, and employee concerns.Support management by providing feedback, documenting incidents, and participating in corrective action processes as directed.Oversee patrol operations, visitor management, and security procedures.Respond to and manage complex or high-risk incidents, including disturbances, trespass, theft, and policy violations and situations that the State Compact requires mandatory reporting; ensure the completion and submission of such reports.Utilize de-escalation techniques and ensure appropriate use of authority consistent with training and policy.Coordinate with Surveillance, Management, and external agencies (law enforcement, EMS, fire) as required.Ensure proper evidence handling, documentation, and chain-of-custody procedures are followed.Supervise dispatch operations to ensure effective communication, timely response, and accurate documentation.Monitor radio traffic, incident prioritization, and resource deployment.Ensure dispatch logs, incident reports, and visitor records are completed accurately and on time.Reports to the Security and Safety Manager any policy suggestions which would address new situations or improve existing policy and create or modify policy as requested.Conduct required employee evaluations, ensuring they are completed promptly.Monitor employee performance and conduct individual training, counseling, or discipline as necessary.Must supervise volunteers and employees at special events when conducting traffic control, security screening, security in the stands, and protecting the stage and backstage to ensure the highest level of security and safety for the patrons, staff, and artists.Must develop a complete working knowledge of all departmental policy, company policy, MICS, State Compact Responsibilities, Gaming Regulations, and Title 31 requirements.Respond to all requests from other departments and entities on the property who report security or safety issues. This includes Hotels, Travel Center, Links, Smoke Shop, RV Park, Equestrian Center, Amphitheater, and Clear Creek Hunting Club.Continually evaluate all aspects of the operation. Cooperate with line staff, fellow supervisors, and the Security and Safety Manager to ensure perpetual improvement of the Department and its contributions to the company.Safety Compliance & Emergency ResponseActively support and enforce workplace safety standards and OSHA compliance across the property.Conduct safety walks, hazard assessments, and operational inspections during assigned shifts.Identify unsafe conditions or behaviors and initiate corrective actions.Assist with workplace injury investigations, near-miss reporting, and safety documentation.Respond to and manage any scene involving a vehicle collision, traffic hazard, or scene requiring traffic control on or adjacent to property, and ensure all relevant reports are completed and submitted.Support emergency preparedness programs, drills, and training initiatives.Assume a leadership role during emergencies, including medical incidents, evacuations, fires, and severe weather events.Implement emergency response plans and incident command protocols as required.Must be able to perform emergency closing procedures and coordinate opening procedures, assuring proper notifications and authority.Ensure effective coordination between Security Officers, Dispatch, and external responders.Maintain situational awareness and provide timely updates to management.Administrative & Reporting ResponsibilitiesReview and approve incident reports, logs, and safety documentation for accuracy and completeness.Prepare shift summaries and communicate significant events to Security Management and/or the Paskenta Tribal Gaming Commission when applicable.Ensure compliance with gaming regulations, internal controls, and company policies.Assist with audits, inspections, and regulatory inquiries as directed.Other DutiesPerform other duties and special assignments as required.RequirementsMinimum 21 years of age.Valid California Driver's license.Strong observational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesDirectly supervises 15-30 employees in the Security Department. This position also supervises the transportation drivers and escort officers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting in interviewing, training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, assisting in rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.Education and/or ExperienceA high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.OSHA 30 RequiredAssociate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent to a two-year college or technical school preferred; or nine months' experience and/or training in security/law enforcement; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Supervisory experience in security or law enforcement preferred.Computer skills such as Microsoft Word and Excel are preferred.Knowledge of California State Alcohol Beverage Control laws preferred.Strong report writing skills required.Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of patrons and employees. Ability to speak clearly and in a concise manner.Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Complex problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve potentially hostile situations. Ability to understand and recognize violations of law and company policy.Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsGaming license issued by the Paskenta Gaming Commission.Must have a Valid California Driver's license and must be able to be insured by the company's insurance carrier.RBS (Responsible Beverage Services) certification as trained at Rolling Hills CasinoMust obtain OSHA 10 certificate within 1 year of hire.Must obtain Title 31 certification as trained by Rolling Hills Casino.Must successfully complete first aid/CPR training provided by Rolling Hills Casino Security.Physical Demands
